People come to Coaching for lots of reasons but usually because they want some kind of change in their lives and need to have support in dealing with it. You can be Coached on any area of your life, and find that it has real value for you in all other areas. I have coached people who:

  • Feel dissatisfied with life and don’t know what to do about it.
  • People who want to be more assertive.
  • People who know what they don’t want any more, but are not sure about what they do want.
  • People who want to feel more confident
  • People who want to have more time and a greater sense of balance and well being in their lives.
  • People who want a career change or a career break
  • People who want to prepare for a healthy, happy and fulfilling retirement.
  • People who want to set goals and plan for their business.
  • People who want to increase their performance at work.
As a Coach it is my job to:
  • Build a trusting working relationship.
  • To listen very carefully to what a client is saying.
  • To assist a client to find the answers they need, to solve their problems, take   action and move forwards with their life.
I use a range of techniques in my Coaching, and will select those which are best for the person I am Coaching.Coaching always works best when the client is ready, willing and able to spend the time they need to work on their own development and success. If someone needs help to be ready, willing and able, then I will look at that with them. Sometimes that will involve me challenging the client, but I always do that in  ways which are respectful and sensitive so that they can learn.

Much of my belief in the amazing, powerful and exciting ways that Coaching works, and my confidence in the process, comes from my own experiences of being coached myself, coupled with my trust in the depth of my own training and learning.

Coaching is not about:
  • Counselling
  • Telling someone what to do
  • The Coach doing all of the talking
  • Giving advice
  • The coach being right and the client wrong

But Coaching is about:

  • Listening
  • Building trust
  • Giving respect
  • Commitment
  • The belief that everyone has the capacity to change
  • The belief that individuals have the answers they need, they just need help to find them. 
  • Honesty
  • Challenge
  • The belief that there are no un-resourceful people just un-resourceful states.
  • Making a space to talk through problems in order to find solutions.
  • Feeling energised, uplifted and motivated.
